Dinagyang Music Festival, one of the best festivals known in the Philippines held every fourth Sunday of January, NEARSOL had the opportunity to be part of it for the second time this past January 24th & 25th, 2020 at Viva Grounds in Iloilo Business Park.
The Dinagyang Festival is Iloilo’s grandest festival that showcases the rich culture and religious devotion in honor of Senior Santo Niño, the child Jesus. This year, the official theme of the event is “Perfect Vision: Celebrating the Ilonggo Spirit”. In local dialect, Dinagyang means “merrymaking” which is the perfect word to describe the grand display of street dance, a parade of floats and parties in every corner of the city.
During and prior to this event, the city becomes a venue for a street party with many activities that visitors can enjoy. One of the most anticipated events is the Dagyang Tribes Competition, the tribes perform a “warrior dance” dressed in the colorful handmade outfits, other popular events include concerts, live performances designed to delight the locals and visitors of the City of Love.
NEARSOL Philippines in partnership with Fuse Productions had the opportunity to sponsor VIVA Music Festival 2020, a one-of-a-kind music and dance party featuring some of the country’s popular bands, DJs, performers, and various artists.
We really enjoyed engaging with many of the attendees, NEARSOL did its part and prepared fun activities, raffles, competitions, and a photobooth to capture the memories of the event among friends and families. NEARSOL was thrilled to be part of this magnificent event and is certainly looking forward to continuing sponsorship of these type of events with the Ilongo community.
