Nearsol Opens New Delivery Center in Medellín, Colombia

Earlier in February we posted a teaser on our Linkedin page about a new location opening in Colombia. I am happy to say that Nearsol is now open in Medellín and we are hiring!

Colombia has long been a favorite destination for our team. Back in 2021 the magazine Nearshore Americas called Colombia ‘the new Philippines’ after the journalist Tim Wilson talked to me.

It is nearly two years since that interview, but my belief in Colombia is only stronger. Colombia is an excellent location for building a business focused on customer service for several reasons:

A highly skilled workforce – Colombia has a highly skilled workforce, with a large pool of bilingual workers who are fluent in English and Spanish. This means that businesses can easily find and hire qualified customer service representatives who can effectively communicate with customers from different parts of the world. Especially important for US nearshore options.

Cost-effective labor – Colombia offers cost-effective labor, which translates into lower operating costs for businesses. The lower labor costs, combined with the skilled workforce, make it an attractive destination for companies looking to manage customer service processes.

Favorable business environment – The Colombian government has implemented policies to attract foreign investment and improve the business environment, which has resulted in a more favorable regulatory environment for businesses. This includes measures to reduce bureaucratic processes and improve infrastructure, making it easier for businesses to operate.

Strategic location – Colombia’s strategic location in the Americas makes it an ideal location for businesses looking to provide customer support to customers in both North and South America. The country has robust telecommunications infrastructure, which makes it easier for companies to provide seamless customer service.

Culture of customer service – Colombia has a strong culture of customer service, and this is reflected in the attitudes and work ethic of its people. Colombians are known for being friendly, hospitable, and customer-centric, which is essential for success in the customer service industry. This culture of service ensures that employees are more likely to take pride in their work and deliver high-quality customer service, which is critical for the success of any customer service business.

Colombia offers an attractive combination of a skilled workforce, favorable business environment, strategic location, and a culture of customer service, making it an excellent destination for businesses looking to establish a customer service business. We are proud to now be in Medellín.

Our team in Medellín should be around 100 strong by the end of March 2023, but we hope to expand further. This is an exciting time for our team, and I look forward to visiting Colombia again soon! Nearshore options are becoming an integral part of the resilience strategy many executives are now looking for in the post-pandemic business environment.
